The goal here was to hit a 1990’s childhood nostalgia sweet spot. A GameBoy you could customize the scene of your favorite game laser cut into it that was the exact size of the old school GameBoy.  I wanted it to be practical and something that you could use and see everyday.  A pen holder seemed like the best choice.  I placed an interior board inside the GameBoy so the pencils would be easier to grab, which made a little cavity in the bottom of the Gameboy.  I decided to put a small bag of sand in that bottom cavity so it would be harder to tip over.
